Zebra Katz – “Y I Do” [Video]

Zebra-KatzZebra Katz is one of the few artists today that is finding a unique and fresh niche in the music world and making it his own. His dark, wildly fashionable aesthetic complements his sound in such a way that makes him stand out to me, and his rhymes aren’t too shabby either. In the video for the minimalistic jam “Y I Do”, director Nathaniel Brown and cinematographer Miguel De Leon use their fantastic skills to show Zebra Katz just doing him.

The video is at some points reminiscent of Tyler, the Creator’s viral “Yonkers” video, in the sense that it is at times just as discomforting to watch, but at the same time you can’t take your eyes off it. V, a forward-thinking modern fashion magazine, premiered the video and helped out with the wardrobe and styling, and their effort and skills shine brightly through it all, rounding out a very fine project.
