Your Old Droog Streams Self-Titled Album, Hints At Changing His Name

your-old-droog-lpEarlier this year, the world was introduced to a mysterious rapper by the name of Your Old Droog. At the time, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone online who truly knew the identity of the then-faceless rhymesmith. Because of this, rumors began to swirl about Droog being some sort of Nas pseudonym, and we were given another shining example of how powerful the internet can be.

Well, we’ve since confirmed that he’s white, not Nas, and just that damn good. If you’ve been unfamiliar with Droog to this point, prepare to be introduced in a big way. He’s slated to officially release the YOUR OLD DROOG LP next week, which will include each track from the YOUR OLD DROOG EP in order, a couple of loosies he’s released since, and six brand-new tracks. New York hip-hop is alive and well with this man, and, personally, I’d rather listen to a legitimate, consistent lyricist than a “pro.”

For now, you can catch the stream of his upcoming LP at NPR. You can pre-order the album here.

In other news, it looks like Droog may be changing his name? Either that or he’s just messing with everyone.
