Remember that story about some record store owner uncovering a bunch of J Dilla’s old vinyl in an abandoned storage unit? Well, if you can recall, the records were returned to Ma Dukes after prior fees were paid for. Taking things to present day, and it looks like Ma Dukes and the J Dilla Foundation are selling off records from the collection, along with a certificate of authenticity. The records will be sold on eBay, with plans of holding an online registry so fans can keep track of their collections moving forward. While it is certainly sad that Ma Dukes is letting go bits of this valuable collection, it is indeed a fantastic way for J Dilla’s followers to grab a piece of the legacy he left behind.
