In Houston rapper X’s new single, “Crisis Of The Negro Intellectual,” he poses a question that many listeners will hesitate to answer – do we hinder our own progress?
“There is no enemy against you worse than you”. This quote, taken from a preceding speech by Minister Louis Farrakhan, footnotes each verse like a nagging pain. X dedicates his lyrics to poverty-stricken citizens of the world and people unlawfully stripped of their rights, but makes it clear that sitting back and accepting a bad situation is even worse than going enduring such hardships. He also dabbles into some quality boasting near the end that ought to shake hardcore Nas fans up.
The single will be found on X‘s upcoming project, Houston Museum of Natural Science, which is set to drop in the near future. Stream “Crisis Of The Negro Intellectual” below.
