After gushing over the general appearance of the Momentum headphones, I had to plug them into my computer to see what they were capable of. And, like any other listening device, I put them through a gauntlet of different styles and ranges to make sure they could handle my eclectic taste. Sure enough, they did a fine job holding up to everything from bass-heavy hip-hop to NPR podcasts. What stood out the most to me while listening through the Momentum On-Ears was Sennheiser’s understanding of balance. While certain brands tend to focus heavily on bass and low-end sound, Sennheiser seems to have a steady grasp on the full sonic range. And it shows especially while listening to tunes that rely heavily on mixing.

Coming from someone who has tried just about every brand of on-ear headphones, Sennheiser is a welcome addition to the space. While previous efforts might have left some room for improvement in the realm of style, Momentum’s On-Ear collection are a vast improvement in that regard. And by sticking to the brand’s attention to sonic detail, these cans are a highly recommended purchase for anyone looking for a sleek and stylish way to listen to music on the go.
