In a DIY documentary I probably couldn’t find the link back to if I tried, I watched and learned all about the secret life of Adam Forkner, also known for his work under the experimental electronic artist monikers White Rainbow and Rob Walmart and for his activities in the 1995-2002 space-rock group Yume Bitsu, among a gazillion other side projects with more mainstream artists like YACHT (also on Marriage Records), The Dirty Projectors, and Devendra Banhart.
The doc directors traveled to Portland, Ore., which I distinctly recall they referred to as a “mecca” of electronic music, where they entered his funky-ass house with weird handwritten scrawl on the exterior wooden siding, and an “ARTISTRY” light up sign just over the front door. DEDICATION = NEAT. From Now On Let’s: The Mixtape is his latest instrumental project, which was released a couple months back in May. Sorry we missed it then, but I think it’s fair to ask for a break off the mah fuckin’ Kit-Kat Bar.
