In what has to be one of the most intriguing collaborations I’ve heard in a minute, Danish quartet When Saints Go Machine have enlisted Killer Mike for their new single, “Love and Respect”. While I am typically wary of cuts like this, they have found a way to make this work and sound completely organic.
Perhaps it’s the fact that members of the band are such hip-hop heads that they just knew how to complement Mike’s more reserved delivery. Or maybe it’s just that the beat has enough of a boom-bap edge to suit his rhymes. Whatever the case, this is solid and it’ll land on WSGM’s new album, Infinity Pool, which drops May 28.
