Weekly SoundCloud Digging (10/17/14)

Typically, I try to stick to more recently released tracks when putting this feature together, if only because of my journalism background that stressed timeliness. But it also stressed relevance, so who gives a damn if a song is six months or even a year (or five) old? If it’s good, it’s good, and it deserves to be shared with others. With that in mind, you’ll find a few older cuts in this week’s post, though I have to admit that a majority of them are quite new. And as is always the case here, I’ve mixed up the sounds so it’s not all left-field, crunchy, and weird instrumental stuff. There’s a flip of an R&B classic (in my opinion, at least), a footwork joint dedicated to the late DJ Rashad, and even an evil take on one of Lil Wayne‘s latest singles. I hope you dig ’em all as much as I do. Enjoy.
