Somehow, MIT found out about an incredible teen in Sierra Leone, making his own DJ and radio transmitter equipment and brought him over to the United States. Kelvin Doe, the 15-year-old prodigy known to his people as DJ Focus, finds much of his equipment scouring garbage to create generators, batteries and other machines to broadcast in his local community. It is a truly inspiring piece, proving yet again you can do anything you put your mind to. The best part, young Doe’s main driving force is his family and local community, as he tries to inspire innovation in a country that struggles each and every day.
