Scorcher is somewhat of a musical-chameleon. His roots are in the London grime scene, with a number of notable, if not game-changing mixtapes, releases and performances under his belt throughout the early 2000s. This was before he spent some time chilling on lockdown at “her majesty’s pleasure.” His return to the music scene was an energetic one, teaming up with fellow Londoner Wretch 32. Together the pair created accessible music for the masses, with Scorcher leaving behind his “street” persona and the stories that go with it, opting for the Londonboy/Skywalker character.
Fast forward to 2014 and you’ll find modern-day Scorcher somewhere in the middle, as he’s articulate and sharp with his grime-esque delivery matched with a polished look and flow. The visuals for “No One Else” reflect the artist’s progression from “the ends” to the dizzy heights of the UK’s chart climbers. Scorcher’s 1 of 1 recently dropped and is available via iTunes.
