Kendrick Lamar made his late night TV debut last night with a performance on the best platform: he rocked the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon stage with a little help from the Roots. In particular, Questlove holds it down on the drums and fills in for the screwed vocals on the hook of “Swimming Pools (Drank)“. It’s a bit of a heady, morose track for a live performance, but Lamar still absolutely kills it. Hopefully this isn’t the last we see of him on the late night rounds. Good kid, m.A.A.d. city drops Oct. 22.
Hip-hop has a future in this kid.
