DJ Dahi is easily one of the most talented producers in hip-hop currently. His notable production credits include; “Money Trees” by Kendrick Lamar, “Worst Behavior” by Drake, “Hell Of A Night” by ScHoolboy Q, and co-production Big Sean’s latest “IDFWU” just to name a few. One of my favorite Dahi records is “Bout It, Bout It”, a song he produced for Freddie Gibbs off Baby Face Killa. The LA producer has definitely become a legitimate hit-maker.
In fact, he was recently recording with Madonna in New York City, where director Lorenzo De Guia caught up with Dahi to shoot this mini-documentary. They discuss the recording process and inspiration behind his two biggest hits to date; “Money Trees” and “Worst Behavior”.
They also delve into Dahi’s influences as far as producers, and artists along with his favorites. Lastly, Dahi shares his views on the music industry, life, and discusses how artists like Chief Keef and Nicki Minaj are simply a reflection of the world around them. It’s really an insightful interview. [via]
