After hearing Aloe Blacc‘s Pharrell-produced “Love is the Answer” yesterday, I smacked myself for not realizing that he had also dropped an EP. It’s titled Wake Me Up and to celebrate its release, Blacc teamed up with guitarist Joel Van Dijk for a riveting acoustic take on the title track. The singer/sometimes-rapper is showing off his vocal chops and his songwriting talents. I know dude’s not like the most gifted singer in the world, but he’s fully capable of conveying the emotion of his words.
