Sometimes it takes the right producer to hip you to the work of an MC. At least, that’s often the case for someone like me who prefers listening to instrumentals over vocal tracks as of late. Anyway, when I saw that Minneapolis’ Ackryte had laced this new single from North Carolina rapper Wally Left, I was instantly intrigued.
I was already a fan of Ack’s work, but that project he dropped recently with WriteGroove cemented that feeling. The same goes for “No Tomorrow”, which finds the Minneapolis artist flipping a familiar guitar-and-piano sample that Left uses to talk his shit. And by that, I mean he makes fun of his opponent by comparing his girlfriend’s build to a Gameboy Advance. L to the O to the L.
