Everyone’s favorite punching bag in hip-hop, Wale, can shrug off the haters with ease this week, because his new album, The Gifted, debuted as the number-one record in the country. It moved 151,871 units in its first week, easily beating out its opposition that dropped the previous week. That would be J. Cole’s Born Sinner and Kanye West’s Yeezus, which came in at number two and number three, respectively.
Yup, Cole beat out Kanye in their second week in the market, though it’s not surprising given the fact Yeezus doesn’t have a single (yet). Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With The Sound Off dropped to number 13 while Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories maintained its spot at number six. Good for them. [via]
