Back in December, a special concert took place in Los Angeles. Headlined as That 70’s Soul, the show paid homage to soul greats, backed by appearances from Sly Stone, George Clinton, Shuggie Otis, Sue Jorge and more. ArtDontSleep captured the entire night by way of film, and is now ready to liberate some of the footage.
The first performance to see the light of day is a fantastic cover of Isaac Hayes’ “Walk On By”. Backed by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson’s ensemble, Zap Mama took the role of vocalist for this soul classic. The end result is a complex, guitar-driven tune that sounds rather amazing on the live stage. Check out the performance below. You can also download the song here.
