Video: Madlib Talks New Projects, J Dilla’s Unreleased Jazz Album and More

madlib-ringMadlib gave a rare interview during his recent trip to the U.K., where he also performed solo and with MF DOOM. In addition to some great footage of his performance, the multi-talented West Coast resident spoke about everything he’s been crafted lately. According to the interview, he’s working on more jazz albums under various aliases, a new Quasimoto album, the new Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) album, and much more, which I’m guessing includes the Rock Konducta stuff. And when asked what he’s listening to lately, he rattled off a little known fact: J Dilla recorded a jazz album that we haven’t heard yet. Apparently there’s an electronic album out there, too. Sheeeeeit.

You can watch the interview below.

Fuck yes. Yessir Wahtever was a nice collection of stuff, but I am REALLY looking forward to a brand new album.

And a Jazz album by Dilla?!?!?!?! That is album of the decade material I bet.

As long as Madlib is alive, hip hop is safe.
