We recently included this LP in our Top 25 Anticipated Albums for 2010. If you enjoyed his debut album The Dreamer, the Brooklyn-based jazz-musician is back with a worthy sophomore LP.

I wish this guy would change his vocal melody unless I’m missing something here. Very cool beat. Is Flying Lotus going to become an abstract artist that also crosses over into jazz? Become remembered like a Sun Ra? I could see it.
I felt the same way, Objektiv. I liked that track but felt Jose needs to switch it up vocally a bit.
This is nice, and LOL@ the vocal pattern. I thought the same thing. Nice track, but that pattern is mad repetitive.
beenn listening to jose james for a while now.
The Dreamer is one of the best albums of the decade.
music is getting better with gifted artists like this.
track is hot.
@ObjektivOne I think Flying Lotus has enough range production-wise to pull it off.
@afan The Dreamer album was really REALLY dope. I’m just glad he included some uptempo joints on the new LP. The Flying Lotus produced tracks on BlackMagic are all incredible; “Made For Love” is @@@@@
peace.
Ha, haven’t followed PHIMB for a couple of weeks and got punished by nearly missing this new release. José is one of those artists I’ll buy blindly from, which I just did with Blackmagic, and it’s another great album.
If you want him switching it up, go see him live
@sammysoul Glad you’re back bro. I’ve never seen Jose James live but after this album I definitely plan to in the near future.
peace.
