Over the past few years, Janelle Monae has performed a gaggle of covers during her live performances. This including Jimi Hendrix classic “Little Wing”, which she tackled on Late Night With Jimi Fallon last night with some help from the Roots and a hot-doggin’ guitarist. It was all in honor of the release of Hendrix’s latest posthumous album, People, Hell and Angels.

Damn…I like Janelle Monae but her rendition of Little Wing was kind of weak. Her guitar player’s tone was terrible. Cpt. Kirk would have batted the outro solo and intro riff out of the park.
