Erykah Badu – “Jump Up In The Air (Stay There)” Feat. Lil Wayne

Erykah released the her latest video “Jump Up In The Air (Stay There)” on her website this afternoon. The video is reminiscent of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” with the same psychedelic and hypnotic visuals. The track will only be available as Web-Only bonus for her new album New Amerykah, Part Two (Return of the Ankh) dropping March 30th. Enjoy!

Erykah Badu is a musical creative genius PERIOD!!! This song reminds me of tracks on Worldwide Underground like “Woo”. Erykah delivers every time, this song may not satify the tastes of ppl who are expecting a song that sounds like all the other garbage popular music, and it may not be what pop culture is looking for, but she has always swayed from what is politically correct and safe this is song is classic like all the rest of her music. Closed minded ppl usually don’t understand creativity.

@bs19 I thought her last album had good lyrical content; “The Healer”,”The Cell” and “Master Teacher” mixed in with some funk. It’s about balance for me. I love the Worldwide Underground LP and yet its not as serious lyrically. Erykah Badu has always had content in her music so it evens out over time. “Jump Up In The Air” is a pretty funk track, thought-provoking no but entertaining yes.

    Thanks for the comments.

Awful…Badu put out two unbelievably unique albums full of lyrical content, then she hit a wall and has been putting out half-assed songs that are nothing more than hooks ever since. The exceptions (i.e., Honey) have been wonderful. She needs to grow out of this Funkadelic stage because it’s not at all interesting.
