Back in 1995, DJ Shadow was a 23-year-old dude making a name for himself as a turntablist, producer, and, of course, DJ. He was also working on a slew of material, much of which would end up on his classic solo debut, Endtroducing….. Sigh, those were the days, huh?
Anyway, the West Coast resident is prepping the release of a compilation, Total Breakdown: Hidden Transmissions From the MPC Era, that’s dedicated to the tracks he made back then. And before it gets here next week, he’s building the anticipation with some previously unreleased footage of his home studio. Oh, and he says “phat” twice. Awesome. [via]
