You might not know Arthur Verocai by name, though that’s not exactly your fault. He recorded what was an amazing and way ahead of its time album with his debut, but the Brazilian government wasn’t having it. The dictatorship in place at the time essentially made sure the record was a commercial failure. But, through producers like MF DOOM and Madlib, Verocai’s music has found a new life. And that came full circle last year when he was invited to Los Angeles to perform as part of the Mochilla Timeless series, which also included the astounding Suite for Ma Dukes.
