At long last, Vic Mensa‘s new project, INNANETAPE, has arrived. I’ve been waiting on this one for a minute now, which was made evident by his inclusion on our hip-hop acts to watch list this past July. Since then, he released three equally varied and ill new tracks—”YNSP“, “Lovely Day“, and “Time is Money“—while landing an opening spot on Disclosure’s upcoming tour. I’m really excited to hear about how crowds react to his sets, which I know have to be killer based on the live footage I’ve seen of his former group, Kids These Days.
INNANETAPE is Vic’s opportunity to show the world what he’s got, which is a lot, and the incredible and versatile talent coming out of Chicago’s rap scene. It features Chance the Rapper, Ab-Soul, BJ The Chicago Kid, Joey Purp, and several others. [via]
