The whole mysterious artist thing can be kind of lame sometimes, especially because it does the exact opposite of what the artist usually wants. More often than not, you’ll hear them say stuff like, “Let the music speak for itself. My identity doesn’t matter.” But yeah, it does, because people are obsessed with image and blah blah blah.
Anyway, no one knows who this Twigs person is, but her new song, “Ache”, is absolutely stunning. Like, Lykke Li-meets-bass music stunning, if that makes any sense. I hope it does, because this track is great and, really, that’s all we should care about.
