While we have seen endless responses to Kendrick Lamar’s notorious “Control” verse, none hit the spot like Troy Ave’s one-liner on his latest single “New York City”. That’s right, Troy called Kendrick a “weirdo rapper,” as he finds himself simply disgusted that Lamar would ever try and claim his beloved city of New York City. So beloved, in fact, that he is naming his entire forthcoming album after it. Which is where the title track “New York City” is spawned, which features vicious verses from Prodigy, Noreaga and Raekwon. And it all takes place over an absolutely infectious boom-bap production from John Scino.

wait, so “weirdo rapper” is a diss? haha. I think Troy should try listening to his own “key-mixes” before dissing ANYbody.
but this is pretty dope.
