We were feeling Tricky and Francesca Belmonte’s collaboration on the former’s previous single, “Does It“, and it sounds like they have another winner here with “Tribal Drums”. Backed by tribal drums (what else?!) and chopped-up vocals, the two wax on the coming and going of evil and being lost on the inside. It’s dark territory, but it’s so well produced and executed that you won’t get sucked into their darkness. Instead, it’s another reason to anticipate Tricky’s No Idols LP, which drops May 28.
