Tricky’s tenth studio album is upon us, and it will be called False Idols. Enlisting artists like Antlers’ Peter Silberman, Fifi Rong and Nneka, it looks like the innovative trip-hop producer will take his sound to uncharted territories. His first single is called “Nothing’s Changed”, and it sports a vocal feature from Francesca Belmonte. Sonically, it seems like Tricky is more focused than ever. The production is on-point, setting the tone for what is shaping up to be a rather dark full-length. [via]
Tricky’s False Idols is due out May 28 via !K7. Below is a statement from Tricky himself on the project at hand:
“This new album I’ll stand behind every track. I don’t care whether people like it. I’m doing what I want to do, which is what I did with my first record. That’s what made me who I was in the beginning. If people don’t like it, it don’t matter to me because I’m back where I was.”
