South Carolina has Washed Out and perhaps North Carolina can say they have Top Girls. Top Girls carries on some of the overdeveloped-film-laying-next-to-a-pool-emanating-a-nausea-inducing-chlorine-aroma vibes and ties it into this bedroom R&B movement that seems to be all the rage (and for good reason). The new song “Truth” is very smooth, with some light synth-lines and falsettos and if that’s not enough for you, you can listen to his 2010 release Attraction on his Bandcamp page as well.
