Potholes Presents Robot Soup
Considering we put the damn thing together, it would be impossible to not give Robot Soup the shine it deserves. I mean, with a lineup like that, I’m hopeful that you already copped it for free. If you’re looking for something to spin this weekend while you’re just chillin’, reading, or what have you, Robot Soup should be your soundtrack. Head over to our Bandcamp and get it now.
Ryan Hemsworth | Foolscast [Mix]
Ryan Hemsworth has been acting like a man possessed since we first caught wind of him. It feels like we can’t go a week (or a day even) without some new music from the Nova Scotian producer. And this past week, we featured him THREE times in a single day. Absurd, I know, but we couldn’t help it given his ill mixes for FACT and Fool’s Gold. I’m highlighting the latter here, partially because it’s broken up into separate tracks. Also, that remix of DJ Khaled’s “I’m On One” should be used in any party playlist this weekend. It’ll fuck people up. You can download the Foolscast via this GETT link.
Janet Jackson | “If” (Kaytranada Remix)
Montreal’s Kaytranada—formerly known as Kaytradamus—hopped on our radar and planted himself there with this stunning remix of Janet Jackson classic “If”. And hey, you know something is really great if Potholes head/curmudgeon Dave Reyneke is behind it. <3
You can download the remix here via Mediafire.
Dam-Funk | “Right Now”
When we posted “Right Now” on our Facebook page, one of our faithful readers pointed out that we use the descriptor “lush” a lot. We kindly replied that we knew that, though we agreed with dude that there really isn’t any other way to describe Dam-Funk’s latest drop. “Right Now” is just as lush, vibrant, bursting, beautiful, etc… as it gets.
The track will download directly once you click here.
Daedelus | Looking Ocean EP
The incomparable Daedelus linked with the folks at Scion A/V to drop a slick lil’ EP this past week. Looking Ocean isn’t necessarily an easy listen, but it’s one worth your time. The track with Austin Peralta is an instant standout, if only because it showcases that these two should probably do a gnarly free jazz album.
