Trap lives. And when I say trap, I mean TRAP, not trapstep or electrotrap, I mean real trap shit. It lives vicariously through Tommy Kruise, who absolutely brings it with his new EP, from the chopped and updated bonafide Three 6 Mafia sample on “Got Me Fucked Up” (which premiered the other day on Live For The Funk) to the goth-trap banger War Hammers, this is just too good of a project. And seriously, that album artwork? Cold as ice.
There’s no denying the dude knows his stuff. I talked to him briefly last night and he’s mad humble and pays his tributes to the hip hop gods, especially the pioneers in dirty South rap (shouts to the blessed land), even though he resides in Montreal. Tommy proves that good ole fashioned rap is global, and that the trap lives on in all of us. Get to know Tommy by downloading the EP below and pray to your god for a volume 2.
