Toki Wright – “A Different Mirror”

Without getting into more detail, I’ll just say this: Toki Wright dropped one of our favorite albums of 2009 with A Different Mirror. It was, without a doubt, one of the finer projects of last year and, thankfully, it continues to see a promotional push with these visuals for its title-track. The video provides a look into the endless issues arising from the Transatlantic slave trade and how, in Wright’s instance, it’s left one hell of a mark on his life. It makes for a gripping, moving listen and viewing, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend checking the visuals if you’re not into the mood for some knowledge.
