West Coast-residing duo TiRon & Ayomari were apparently so taken by Denaun Porter’s Porter Chops Glasper project that they hopped on one of the Robert Glasper-flipping beats and made it their own. The end result is “Big Apple Don’t Chew”, a melodic cut filled with sharp darts at all the bullshit. In addition to rapping back and forth, the two share the mic for a hook that asks the listener if he/she wants to get turnt up, pop a molly, be in the spotlight, and “live right” with a “good life.” It’s clever and biting without ever sounding especially holier than thou—an aspect of TiRon & Ayomari’s music I’ve long respected and enjoyed.
