Without a doubt, one of the year’s biggest surprises to date is Thurz‘s solo debut, L.A. Riot. It’s not that we weren’t expecting quality from one half of the now-defunct U-N-I, it’s just that we weren’t expecting such a serious and poignant project. I mean, his former act was kind of known for being lighthearted and fun-loving, so you can’t really blame us. But on L.A. Riot? Goddamn did he bring it and then some.
