Chances are you first heard Thundercat — or at least fully appreciated his abilities — when you heard “MmmHmm” on Flying Lotus’ unbelievable Cosmogramma. And if you’re anything like me, you were left wanting to know more about Thundercat. Well, here’s the deal — he’s a dude in his mid-20s who apparently shreds the fuck out of his bass and can sing pretty well, too. His abilities are on full display here throughout “For Love I Come”, the first leak off his forthcoming album, The Golden Age of Apocalypse, that is produced by FlyLo. It’s a cover of George Duke’s “For Love (I Come Your Friend”, a track I’m sure plenty of MF DOOM fans know well. [via]
