I’ll be honest with y’all: I was never the biggest fan of Mario Kart. You know why? Because all my friends played the shit out of it before me and whenever I played, they kicked my ass to high heaven and back down again. So rather than try to hone my skills away from our get-togethers, I just continued owning them at Goldeneye. Nerdery aside, Providence, R.I.’s Theo Martins was still able to catch my attention with his new track, “Mario Kart”, not by its name by but the music he’s rapping over. As he has done in the past, Martins grabbed one of his favorite tunes — in this case Toro y Moi’s “Still Sound” — and flexed his lyrical muscles all over it. I’m hopeful this means the MC has another mixtape in the works or, better yet, a proper album.
