I can’t remember just who hipped me to this new album from Thelonious Martin. But whoever you are, thank you. I have been playing 16-Bit nonstop since I downloaded it a few days ago because, let’s be honest, there are very few things better to listen to while you’re working than really good instrumental hip-hop. OK, maybe jazz and some post-rock, but you get my point. Martin’s 16-Bit is a head-noddin’ journey through his collection of vinyl and his Genesis and SNES games, both of which have influenced this project greatly. If you’re in the mood to nerd-out a bit or just enjoy some good-ass beats, this is for you. By the way, while I have you here, which did you prefer: SNES or Genesis? I’m with the latter. SEGA for life, bitches.
