Despite what you might think, funk music is alive and well, y’all. Of course, Dam-Funk is the flag-waving king of boogie right now, but there are other artists experimenting with the sound, too. Like Charlotte, N.C.’s own Thee Red Fox, a gifted vocalist with a penchant for soulful funk music. Across her latest release, the superb 808′s and Funkbreaks, she uses her strong, infectious voice to wax on love atop a bed of ear candy-like synths, guitars, and drums.
