The Weekly Rundown: (April 27-May 4th)

Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- De La Soul releases collaboration album with Nike: Are You In? It’s good, but not much more than that. And hey, at least we have new De La! 45 minutes of running/sweating to the Plugs…lol
- Maxwell Returns after a long hiatus with “Pretty Wings” Just what R&B game has been missing. This is the first single off his upcoming album Black Summer’s Night, which will be first release in 7 years.
- Guru releases a new joint of his latest Jazzmatazz compilation called “Fast Lane” Monotone meets autotune???!! Somebody get DJ Premier on the phone because this is turrible! © Charles Barkley
- Clipse Manger gets arrested with leading a 10 million dollar drug ring? “Keys open [prison] doors”……yuck! © Pusha T
- Rick Ross has the #1 album in the country with Deeper Than Rap. After all the YouTube beefing with 50 Cent, Ross finally has a victory.
- Nas & Kelis are heading for a divorce. Most Nas fans forgot about these tracks off Street’s Disciple anyway, but we doubt he’ll be performing “Getting Married”, “No One Else in the Room”, or “The Makings of a Perfect Bitch” ever again.
- Lil Wayne beat out Obama and Oprah on Time’s influential person list? I guess Oprah should have more rappers on her show so she can have swagger, too!
- Stones Throw 2009 American Tour Announced. The DJ tour with Peanut Butter Wolf, Dam-Funk, James Pants & Mayer Hawthorne is one the best underground shows happening right now. They tore it down in Toronto on Friday, check ‘em out!
- Bust Rhymes, The GZA & The Knux have been added to Rock The Bells 2009. The lineup for this festival just continues to grow stronger.
- NBA Playoffs: Boston Celtics win Game 7 over the Chicago Bulls. In what has easily been the most exciting series in the playoff so far, the Celtics won! But this is all just a bunch of nonsense anyway because we know it will be Lakers v. Cavs in the Finals.
