Volumes one and two of The Finer Things features beats that are sometimes romantic, other times jazzy, and altogether made for head-nodding. Like you, these are two guys who share an affinity for hip-hop and gathering dusty records and decided they’d do something with their inspiration from spinning vinyl all day. As you can no doubt gather from their name, the Stuyvesants hail from Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, N.Y., an appropriate setting for their ’70s-inspired boom-bap.
