When I listen to the Stepkids, I am instantly taken back to my younger years. Specifically, I feel like I am again sitting in the backseat of my dad’s van waiting to get to wherever we’re going while my old man messes with the radio station until he finds whatever he likes. Typically, it was something that made my ears bleed, but once in a while he’d find a classic rock gem that continues to stick with me today. And to me, that’s just what the Stepkids create: Classic rock for the 20-something sect that’s ready to embrace even the more oddball sounds of the ’70s. Their latest single, “Legend In My Own Mind”, is no exception.
