Maybe I’m just a sucker for music videos playing out like short films, but the Park and Darondo’s “Jesse James” is my new favorite video of 2012. It’s got that Blaxploitation swag for days, thanks in part to a starring role by Jesse Boykins III and the work of director Jordan Riggs.
It all makes for the type of video you’ll want to watch at least a handful of times to digest both the video’s story and the track itself. Apparently the Park and Darondo, who is a fucking legend, have a full-length album in the works. You’ll find “Jesse James” on an upcoming 7-inch.
