The Budos Band – “Budos Rising”

Afrofunk, anyone? If you answered yes, then the Budos Band is here to fill your needs and satisfy all your brassy, groovy, butt-shakin’ needs. The nine-piece, which fluctuates between nine to 13 members, just announced an upcoming tour of the Midwest and dropped off some great footage of them performing “Budos Rising” to boot. While I have dug their studio albums just fine, seeing them in a live setting simply brings their music to another level. Hell, even though they were the last performer on a festival bill in Chicago last summer, the Budos Band inspired a crowd of heat-wary hipsters and families to dance for 40 or so minutes. Get the funk up.
