Rap duo the Black Opera return today with 80z Babies to the Gz, a 16-track and heavily conceptual mixtape that flirts with some of the most classic sounds from hip-hop’s Golden Era. As Mello Music Group’s Bandcamp explains, the two MCs found themselves smack dab in the middle of that era and the latest crop of rappers, so they decided to make a project that explores that idea. You’ll hear the Black Opera spitting over gems like Mos Def‘s “Umi Says”, Eric B. and Rakim’s “Paid In Full”, and so much more.
