From the northern-most part of the Northwest, Bellingham, Wash.-based group The Bad Tenants make their Potholes debut with the free six-track project Eloquent Scoundrels Vol. 1. With what sounds like a heavy Jurassic 5 (who should NEVER be referred to as J5) influence, this could be a group we hear from a lot more in the future. If you dig jazz-heavy boom-bap, don’t sleep on these cats.
