The 100 Best Songs Of 2013 (Part 2: 50-1)

isaiah-rashad-olde-englishWith the first 50 entries on our overall list out of the way yesterday, now it’s time to dig into the top dogs (no pun) in our roundup of the 100 Best Songs of 2013. Just in case you go through this and have some questions, let me lay down one major rule:

  1. We had to forego including a few tracks that would have otherwise topped our list—Earl Sweatshirt’s “Chum” and Disclosure’s “Latch”—because they made last year’s list. Yes their respective albums dropped this year, but those singles had been out already.

That being said, those two acts had enough strong material on their records that choosing another cut wasn’t the most difficult thing in the world, but it needed clarification. Additionally, we will be posting a list of all of the individual writers’ favorite songs and albums of the year this coming Monday, just in case you were curious about that. But for now, let’s focus on the best songs of the year, shall we?

Agreed on Pusha Man, I can just look at my play count on that one and see.

And thanks for remembering Toro, everybody else forgot about that album and it’s still one of my favorites from this year.
