Upon releasing his first official song some months back, New York crooner TCVVX came and went. He received respectable coverage but faded without a followup. Well, the evidently talented artist has returned with a visual for that very record, “Clocks,” and the buzz has accumulated once more. Of course, this daily dose of interest requires sustainment, but the sudden surge of ears and eyes listening and watching is well-deserved.
A clock’s slowed tick, though not audibly existent, permeates both song and video; TCVVX promotes patience and escape in a world of fast-paced punctuality, wandering aimlessly through dimly lit city streets and falling into watery depths. Conkrete Media Group, credited for the direction of this visual, also interestingly includes interspersed shots of strippers going through the day-to-day.
Though this NYC singer is bound to garner comparisons to The Weeknd, his sharp, thoughtful lyricism and experimental vocal layering are sure to serve as differentiators.
“You should slow it down/why always be on time for everything?”
