Brainfeeder artist Taylor McFerrin jumped on our radar years ago, with word of a full-length debut soon to be released. Well, it has taken quite some time, but McFerrin is finally prepared to drop that album, and it will be called Early Riser. It will land on Brainfeeder, Flying Lotus‘ label, and it is sure to be a pretty damn impressive release. Which seems clear from the first single, “The Antidote”. Calling on Australian vocalist Nai Palm, McFerrin has spun up a track that is reminiscent of Bonobo’s expansive collaborative work.
But McFerrin does a fine job of creating a lane of his own, Which he has had plenty of time to do, preparing for this exciting release. Early Riser is set to drop June 3.

The first time I heard Taylor McFerrin he was opening for Onra in NYC. He wasn’t on the bill and he just came out without saying a word and blew everyone’s fucking minds with some shit he came up with on the spot, until about ten minutes in everyone was chanting “WHAT’S YOUR NAME?” Sounds like the world’s about to know.
