Tall Black Guy – Hollyweird 2.0 [Album]

I’ve been hearing about Tall Black Guy for a few years now, particularly when I was diving into Chicago’s underground hip-hop scene. But for some reason, I never kept up with him. So when I was informed that the Chi-city producer had just released a new album, Hollyweird 2.0, I decided it was time to hop on board. And from what I’m hearing, I could not have picked a better time. The project, which features Radius and the Primeridian, is Tall Black Guy’s ode to the West Coast, which means thick bass, killer synthesizers, and, of course, banging drums. My favorite cut on here is “I Wanna Play Summthin’ for You”, a track that sounds like the producer’s personal ode to Dam-Funk.
