We haven’t posted much from the BKMC over the past few years because, well, to be completely honest, we haven’t been terribly excited about his recent output. But after spinning Gutter Rainbows a few times, I am safely back in Talib Kweli’s camp. There are a few duds on there, but the majority of the album is pretty goddamn solid. In particular, I cannot stop playing his Ski Beatz-produced jam, “Cold Rain”. The track’s post-apocalyptic sentiment carries through to the visuals for “Cold Rain”, which feature Kweli getting all Book Of Eli‘d up.
Stream “Cold Rain” below and hit the skip for the visuals. Gutter Rainbows drops Jan. 25.
