Oddisee continues his winning streak with his fourth seasonal EP, Odd Spring. Starting in the summer of 2009, he has brought a killer free project that greatly grasps the vibe and feel of each season. And many times, these EPs act as a means of previewing an upcoming project. For example, Odd Spring features a track called “The Beat is for Finale” that more than likely will feature the Detroit rapper when their collaborative Odds & Ends project drops this year. This free sampling of Oddisee material also hosts features from his Diamond District crew, Muneshine, Kingpin Slim, and Olivier Daysoul. Ridiculously creative duo Georgia Anne Muldrow and Declaime are prepping a vinyl-only EP, Heaven or Hell, that will serve as the precursor to their Someothaship album. And to celebrate that EP release, we present a new single from Someothaship. “Get Up” features two great guest spots in Prince Po and yU as well as cuts from DJ Clear amongst the madness created by Georgia and Declaime. We also have a “GoGo” remix from none other than Oddisee. Get to clickin’ and, if you aren’t yet, get familiar with two of hip-hop/soul/R&B’s finest artists.

The homies over at Audible Treats just sent over this cut that introduced the world to Diamond District on Oddisee’s album Foot In The Door. This marked the first time yU, X.O., and Oddisee joined forces on a track and who could have known it would pave the way for one of the best albums we’ve heard in years? If you haven’t heard Diamond District’s In The Ruff yet, I have one question for you: How’s that rock you have been living under? I hope it’s cozy, because otherwise you have no excuse for not hearing this fantastic album. Well, if you somehow missed out on the trio’s stellar LP, here’s your late-pass. Snarkiness aside, the DMV group has decided to release its debut effort in retail stores – both physical and digital – later this month. And to tease you all, here’s one of the album’s finer cuts, “I Mean Business”, as it appears on the final version of In The Ruff.

FS have been hitting us with some of the best exclusives in DMV hip-hop as of late, this one right here might be one of the best. A very gritty, raw sound that is quite reminiscent of the golden age of hip-hop. But don’t get it twisted, he brings that newness that a lot of artists attempting to restore that sound fail to accomplish. It also appears that yU of Diamond District is working closely with this artist as he not only cosigns the project, but is the host.
